About Sovrenmere

Built for traders who think in probabilities, not predictions

Sovrenmere began as a response to a simple frustration: most trading tools tell you what happened, not what to do with it. We set out to build something that adapts as market conditions change.

Independently run and based in Edinburgh, focused solely on risk modelling and decision support for active traders.

From spreadsheet models to adaptive infrastructure

Sovrenmere started as an internal modelling framework, built because the available tools treated risk as a static number rather than a moving target. Early versions were rough — rule-based, manually tuned, and limited to a handful of instruments.

Over time the approach shifted toward models that recalibrate as new data arrives, rather than relying on fixed thresholds set months earlier. That shift — from static rules to adaptive modelling — remains the core idea behind everything we build today.

We're not a brokerage, a signal service, or a financial advisor. Sovrenmere exists to help traders and private investors understand their exposure and make more deliberate decisions, using their own judgement alongside our analysis.

Sovrenmere workspace where risk models are developed and tested

Make risk visible before it becomes a loss

Markets don't give advance warning. Our mission is to give traders a clearer, continuously updated view of their own risk exposure — so decisions are based on current conditions, not last week's assumptions.

Clarity over noise

We prioritise explainable outputs over black-box scores. If a model flags something, you should be able to see why.

Continuous adaptation

Conditions change, so our models recalibrate rather than relying on fixed rules set once and forgotten.

Tools, not instructions

We provide analysis to support your own decisions. We don't issue trade signals or tell you what to buy or sell.

Principles that shape how we build

  • 1

    Transparency in modelling

We aim to make our methodology understandable, not just the output. Users should know roughly how a figure was reached.

  • 2

    Restraint in claims

We don't promise guaranteed returns or risk-free trading. Markets carry real risk, and we say so plainly.

  • 3

    Independence of judgement

Our tools inform decisions; they don't replace the trader's own analysis and responsibility.

  • 4

    Iterative improvement

Models are reviewed and refined on an ongoing basis as we learn from how they perform in practice.

A small, focused group

Sovrenmere is run by a compact team covering modelling, product, and operations. We keep the organisation lean by design — it lets us iterate on the product directly rather than managing layers of process.

How we work

Rather than publishing detailed staff bios, we focus our public communication on what the product does and how it's built. If you'd like to know more about our team or approach, you're welcome to get in touch through the contact details in the footer.
